LOTTIE CONSALVO

‘I Tried To Make A Horizon For You’ was shown at the Melbourne Art Fair in 2018. Working with a restricted palette across mediums, Lottie Consalvo paints often monumental forms referencing memory, landscape and sacred places. The simple forms, the vastly empty spaces, the high contrast of opposing dark and light and the outcome of an almost impoverished surface see a manifestation of the unknown, the vulnerable, the invisible and the intangible.

Lottie Consalvo is a Melbourne-born, Newcastle-based artist whose practice traverses painting, performance, video and sculpture. Her work explores psychological shifts and ideas surrounding desire, longing and the ungraspable are present within her work. Her paintings create a physical space for imagination, memory and psychological transitions.
