‘Opera’ was exhibited in the 2013 solo show ‘Sydney Interiors‘. In this work, Blasco combines architecture, photography and sculpture to create an enveloping portrait of the Sydney Opera House. He deftly integrates multiple views of the iconic sails, steps and interiors into a dynamic, unfolding encounter with the building.
I am very much interested in conveying the feeling of each interior, from the distribution of objects in the space, to the colours of the walls and the dispersion of light throughout the rooms.
Works by Isidro Blasco are held in major collections across the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA), the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Chicago Institute of Contemporary Art, and the Baltimore Museum of Art.
