Lucas Davidson selected as finalist in Josephine Ulrick & Win Schubert Photography Award

Lucas Davidson has been selected as a finalist in The Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award for his photographic work ‘Death as a Companion to Living’. This award honours the philanthropy of Mrs Win Schubert AO (1937-2017) and is a touchstone of contemporary photographic practice in Australia. In Davidson’s selected pigment print, the surface of the image has been pushed and scraped so that black tears create topographic folds, appearing both on the image’s surface and on the skin itself. The exhibition of finalists will open on Saturday 20 October at HOTA, Home of the Arts in Queensland, and the winner will be announced on opening night, 19 October 2018.
