Locust Jones monograph available at Art Gallery of NSW bookshop

With the opening of ‘Playback’ Dobell Australian Drawing Biennial just around the corner, the Art Gallery of NSW bookshop has a new stock of Locust Jones’ monograph ‘Subterranean Output Five Years of Drawing 2010 – 2015’. In a concertina form, this book unfolds like one of Locust’s powerful and persistent line drawings, with scrolling text and imagery in response to the daily news, art history, archives, cinema and online.
‘Playback’ will open on 7 July at the Art Gallery of NSW, featuring Vernon Ah Kee, Sharon Goodwin, Laura Hindmarsh, Dorota Mytych, Jason Phu, Lucienne Rickard and Nick Strike alongside Locust Jones. These artists present new works that find a connection between drawing and the moving image. This exhibition of works for the Dobell Drawing Biennial will continue until October 2018.
