Locust Jones finalist in the Geelong Acquisitive Print Awards

Locust Jones has been selected as a finalist for the Geelong Acquisitive Print Awards. The acquisitive prize and exhibition has been conducted by Geelong Gallery since 1996 and the prize-winning prints will be announced at the opening of the exhibition on Thursday 19 September 2019. Locust’s new series of small lithographs offer haunting imagery of the endless news cycle, dubbed ‘newstainment’ by the artist. His incisive political commentary goes beyond the documentary in these works, taking a stream-of-consciousness approach that captures the zeitgeist as well as a dark, personal response to it. The Geelong Acquisitive Print Awards exhibition will continue until 24.11.19.
