KATIE WEST ‘Ngali Jugun Ganaree (Of Our Country)’ at Firstdraft

October 28, 2024

Katie West will be exhibited in the group show ‘Ngali Jugun Ganaree (Of Our Country)’ at Firstdraft from 2.12.22 – 22.01.23, curated by Stephanie Beaupark as part of the gallery’s First Peoples Curators Program.

The exhibition centres Indigenous relationships with Country and voices each artist’s unique connection to their Countries with works made from materials found in the natural environment. Expanding on the concepts explored in Ngugi Quandamooka curator-scientist-artist Stephanie Beaupark’s research, the show teases out the relationships between macro, physicality of Country and the micro, spiritual connections and disconnections with community. Katie will be shown alongside Elisa Jane Carmichael, Lowell Hunter, Alinta Maguire, and Kirli Saunders.
