Dani Marti’s work ‘Llunyanies Fosquejades’ is on show as a finalist in the Wangaratta Contemporary Textile Award at Wangaratta Art Gallery from 10.06. – 20.08.23. The nationally acclaimed biennial prize exhibition celebrates the diversity and strength of Australian textile art as a Kyamba Foundation project. Building on Wangaratta’s long and prominent history of textile manufacturing, and craft making, the Wangaratta Contemporary Textile Award furthers this unique tradition and social history by elevating and promoting the development of contemporary textile practice in Australia.
Speaking on his finalist work, Dani says: “A metaphorical space, suspended in time. Knotted and pulled across powder coated aluminium. A space where presence eats away yesterdays and fearful tomorrows. A space on endless subtleties. Light and shadows hovering between two depths.”
