VEDIKA RAMPAL ‘2024 Hatched National Graduate Show’ at Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA)

Vedika Rampal has been selected for the 2024 Hatched National Graduate Show at Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) which will be on show from 03.08. – 13.10.2024. Nominated by their teachers and selected by a panel of artists and curators, Hatched represents the diverse and compelling practices of the next generation of artistic voices. As a cornerstone of PICA’s program and the only national graduate exhibition in the country, over its three decades of history Hatched has presented the work of Australia’s leading contemporary artists, providing a vital platform for early-career artists.

Vedika’s exhibited installation ‘Pilgrimage II’ has been awarded the prestigious Dr Harold Schenberg Arts Award for artistic excellence and future potential. On her work, the judges said: “Vedika Rampal’s work demonstrates a powerful engagement with the relationships between materials and colonial processes. Her visual language is sophisticated and resolved, paralleled by her attention to audience perspective and engagement. Vedika contends with history and its complexities with deep consideration. We can see a strong future ahead for her as she continues to resolve the past and future.”
