Artist Panel Discussion: Emma Fielden and Kynan Tan

Dominik Mersch Gallery will be hosting an artist panel discussion with Emma Fielden and Kynan Tan on Sunday 11 November at 2PM. The panel will be moderated by Sophia Kouyoumdjian and will discuss the themes present in both Emma and Kynan’s concurrent solo shows ‘between stars, between stones’ and ‘Permutations.’

Sophia has worked in the arts sector for over 15 years across directorial, curatorial and exhibition management roles, including working personally with both Emma and Kynan. Currently the Director of Parramatta Artists Studios (PAS), Sophia has in-depth knowledge of Emma’s practice as one of the artists occupying a studio space at PAS. Additionally, Sophia curated the 2017 exhibition ‘Primavera’ at the MCA, which featured Kynan’s computer simulation works.

Along with the panel discussion, Emma will also be doing a performance piece with one of her installations titled ‘States of Matter’. This is one of her first forays into performance, initially developed in upstate New York during her residency with Art Omi this year.

Entry to this event is free and everyone is most welcome! Emma and Kynan’s solo shows will continue until 25 November 2018.
