Peta Clancy’s ‘Undercurrent’ works from her residency with the Koorie Heritage Trust are featured in ‘Fluidity’, an online exhibition mounted by Incinerator Gallery in Melbourne. This show explores the force of soft power to affect change in the world through the political and poetic navigation of water.
“To create ‘Undercurrent’ I collaborated with the Dja Dja Wurrung community to investigate massacre sites on that Country. I focussed on a massacre site submerged underwater, exploring this site as a metaphor for the hidden history of many massacres throughout Australia and the denial of this aspect of our history and the trauma these sites evoke.”
‘Fluidity’ is available to view online here.
