Oliver Abbott has been selected as a finalist in the Gosford Art Prize 2025, one of Australia’s most respected regional art awards.

Hosted by the Gosford Regional Gallery on the NSW Central Coast, the Gosford Art Prize has been a cornerstone of Australia’s contemporary art landscape since 1970. Open to artists across the country, the prize celebrates the breadth and depth of creative practice in Australia – highlighting innovation, conceptual rigour, and technical excellence across painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media.

Oliver’s inclusion in this year’s finalist exhibition is a testament to his distinctive visual language and thoughtful engagement with materiality and form. His work continues to challenge perceptions of space, structure, and process – qualities that align with the prize’s longstanding commitment to championing ambitious and thought-provoking contemporary art.

The Gosford Art Prize 2025 exhibition will be on view at the Gosford Regional Gallery from 06.09. – 09.11.25, culminating in an opening event and announcement of winners on Friday 5 September 2025.
