OLIVER ABBOTT ‘Contemporary Australian Landscape Painting’ at White Cottage Gallery, Retford Park

Oliver Abbott will be showcased in the group exhibition ‘Contemporary Australian Landscape Painting’ at The White Cottage Gallery, Retford Park, in Bowral. The exhibition opens on 7 February 2026 and will run through 6 April 2026, offering visitors a fresh look at contemporary approaches to the Australian landscape.

The exhibition presents a curated selection of landscape works drawn from the Salon des Refusés of the Wynne Prize – an alternative showcase for standout pieces that were not selected for the official Wynne Prize exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Established in 1992 by the S.H. Ervin Gallery, the Salon des Refusés has become a respected annual event in the Australian art calendar, championing diversity, experimentation and new perspectives in landscape art.

Oliver’s practice investigates memory and place, using digital world-building tools to reconstruct remembered environments in painterly form.
