MENG-YU YAN ‘PLAYGROUND’ at The Lock-Up

October 6, 2024

Meng-Yu Yan’s newly commissioned installation work will be exhibited in ‘PLAYGROUND’ at The Lock-Up, Newcastle, from 3.10. – 5.10.22. The group show invites audiences to find respite and acknowledge the absurdity of the world through laughter, fun, and play. There will be an opening night event on 8.10.22 at 5:30pm with a special live performance by LOVER LAMP.

Meng-Yu’s practice is mesmerised by ideas of mirroring and reflection and, as a first generation, Australian-Chinese, queer, non-binary artist, their work disrupts notions of the binary and temporal linearity by sitting comfortably in liminal spaces.
