Marion Borgelt ‘Bloodlight Stack: 126 leaves’ article in the Weekend Australian

August 10, 2018

Marion Borgelt is the subject of an article by Bronwyn Watson in the Weekend Australian (August 4 – 5). Flick open to page 12 or click on the link below to read about one of her most compelling hand-made paper works ‘Bloodlight Stack: 126 leaves’. Discussing the meticulous process behind creating this work, Borgelt says that it “became something like a multiple set of leaves that unfolded and unfolded and unfolded to reveal an interior that had an infinite kind of core to it. … I was very much aligned to the beautiful flowers of nature. You know how inside the flower there is so much more that is magical and mysterious, and that was something I really was drawn to.”

Marion Borgelt, ‘Bloodlight Stack: 126 leaves’ is part of the Wollongong Art Gallery collection. On display in exhibition Red Alert! at Wollongong Art Gallery until September 23.
