MARION BORGELT and TIM JOHNSON Works on display at NGA in ‘Earth/Sky’

December 5, 2018

Marion Borgelt and Tim Johnson feature in a group show at the National Gallery of Australia titled ‘Earth/Sky’, which continues until 7 April 2019. In the Australian Galleries, Marion Borgelt’s work ‘Luna arc: figure D’ taps into the moon’s powerful allure, calling to mind the endless ebb and flow of tides. Tim Johnson’s striking multi-panel work ‘UFOs per se’ takes a colourful look skyward to plumb our imaginative views on extraterrestrial life.

‘Earth/Sky’ reveals treasures in the NGA’s collection about the Earth’s place in the cosmos. It explores artists’ fascination with the natural world and the celestial realms above, asking questions about our relationship to outer space and our position as a species on this planet.
