Lottie and Dino Consalvo joint exhibition at The University of Newcastle Gallery

Lottie Consalvo and her father Dino Consalvo will be exhibiting their works together for the first time at the University of Newcastle Gallery in an exhibition curated by Gillean Shaw and Ahn Wells titled ‘From the Mudbrick House’. Both artists have spent a significant time reviewing each other’s artworks in the lead-up to this exhibition, eliciting an intense dialogue about which works they consider the most resonant – to their relationship and their individual practices. This process was undertaken over many months and the result is both a retrospective and collaborative exhibition. ‘From the Mudbrick House’ has forged a special bond from artist-to-artist, in addition to the familial relationship of father and daughter. While both artists are on independent trajectories within their careers, this exhibition comments on family dynamics, the family home, and how shared time and space has influenced their art.

This exhibition commences on 20 March and continues until 20 April. Please join the artists on Saturday 23 March from 3PM to open the exhibition at the University Gallery.
