JANET LAURENCE solo show at Yu-Hsiu Museum of Art in Taiwan

February 28, 2020

For their first exhibition in 2020, the Yu-Hsiu Museum of Art in Taiwan will be presenting a solo show of new works by JANET LAURENCE, staged as a garden bridging art and science across all three galleries. ‘Entangled Garden for Plant Memory’ includes installations of suspended glass and plant matter, photographic and video works, seeds, specimens, ore, soil and objects from the historical botanical collection from the National University of Taipei. ⠀

The award-winning architecture of the museum building is nestled in the mountainous region and inspired by the concept of traditional Chinese gardens. Concrete walls, ponds and terraces are in dialogue with natural light, clouds and greenery, making this space a thoughtful setting for Janet’s exploration of the plight and restoration of nature. ⠀

’Entangled Garden for Plant Memory – Janet Laurence’ opens on 21 March and continues until 26 July 2020.
