JANET LAURENCE  Earth Canvas Open Day

November 1, 2019

Set on Yabtree West, the beautiful Riverina property meandering along the Murrumbidgee River, Janet Laurence will join Yabtree West owner Rebecca Gorman to explore the majesty and resilience of Australia’s native trees as part of Earth Canvas Open Day. Yabtree West hosts a beautiful community of River Reds, Box Trees and Kurrajong, which inspire the work Janet has created on the farm to observe and honour the tree.

The day starts at 10AM on Saturday 30 November, but you may also arrive the night before or at 5:30AM on the day to take a guided dawn walk to the highest point on the farm with Charles Sturt University Associate Professor of Ecology David Watson. He will share his knowledge on birds and bird hollows in the ancient trees.

Janet Laurence has put trees and the plight of nature at the heart of her life’s work. Come and camp on the river or stay in nearby Gundagai for a day of tree immersion and discussion of regenerative agriculture. As the Open Day progresses, hear about on-farm soil and ecology work and enjoy lunch by the river, all while being inspired by Janet’s passion and work for nature.
