ISIDRO BLASCO installation ‘Emerging Space’

October 10, 2019

‘Emerging space’ (Espacio emergente) is a site-specific sculptural installation by Isidro Blasco for the main ballroom of the Lázaro Galdiano Museum, Madrid. The installation presents a space in motion through a construction of flat elements mounted on racks and covered by photographs taken in different parts of the Museum to convey the individual process of perception of space within a shared experience. The project seeks to intervene not only in the physical and perceptual space itself, but in the institutional and social space, as well as in the museum’s memory itself. Isidro Blasco, a Madrid-based artist based in New York, has an architectural background which helps him to communicate issues of artistic perception and highlight the connection between the arts.

The show runs from the 4 October to the 26 January 2020 at the Lázaro Galdiano Museum ballroom, Madrid.
