Helen Pynor ‘Spectra’ exhibition at UTS Gallery

July 13, 2019

Helen Pynor will be featured in an upcoming exhibition at UTS Gallery titled ‘Spectra: The Art and Consequence of Collaboration’, bringing together eight Australian artists whose practices are connected by a deep and innovative engagement with science. The exhibition opens next Tuesday 16 July and will be on show until 6 September 2019.

The exhibition explores the relationship between art and science, and the ways in which these two elements can inform one another. It analyses cross-disciplinary collaboration and its ability to spark new ideas, provide critical perspectives, and develop forms of expression that speak to the sophisticated technological era in which we live. Helen’s work is frequently developed during in-depth residencies in scientific and clinical institutions, such as her included video work developed at and epitomises this increasing convergence of art and science.
