GARY DEIRMENDJIAN showing at Wynyard Station’s Wynscreen

March 11, 2020

GARY DEIRMENDIJAN’s presence is currently airing on Wynscreen throughout March (and again in November). This ethereal visual experience unfurls in three acts, lulling viewers into the echoes of presence‘s boundless fog. On presence, the artist says:

“Suggesting itself as another realm (unearthly even) with inhabitants at once familiar yet foreign, presence lies as a silent counterweight to the rush and daily life of Wynyard, its terrain appearing to stretch deep into the fog, well beyond the curved glazing: the monumental bay window that separates us.

Their unthreatened and non-threatening focus is us and our way of being it seems.

Let it take the viewer’s fancy, should they allow it to …”

The screening times for presence are as follows:

6am-3pm on odd-numbered days throughout March 2020
3pm-12am on even-numbered days throughout March 2020

Located on the mezzanine level of Wynyard Station’s Clarence Street entrance, Wynscreen is Sydney’s newest art installation that illuminates with media art by a variety of Australian artists, animators, designers and choreographers. Find out more about Wynscreen here.
