Gary Deirmendjian in The Drawing Exchange at the National Art School

September 21, 2018

An installation involving synthetic rope, twine and NAS Archive items by Gary Deirmendjian is currently on display in the Rayner Hoff Project Space at the National Art School, Sydney. This work is part of The Drawing Exchange: an ongoing collaboration between Adelaide Central School of Art and the National Art School that brings two artists into conversation through the practice of drawing. As one of six artist duos in this year’s Drawing Exchange, Deirmendjian and Adelaide-based artist Hossein Valamanesh have created “two distinct echoes from a joint arrival … from a collaboration of sorts … of attitude and of sensibilities … this in Sydney and Hossein’s titled ‘Lost and Found’ in Adelaide.”

Deirmendjian will be delivering an artist talk this SUNDAY 23 September at 12.45pm in the Rayner Hoff Project Space, NAS, along with artists Chelsea Lehmann and Toni Warburton. The Drawing Exchange will be on display until 12 October 2018.
