VIP EVENT: ANDREW ROGERS
Wednesday 11 September at 6:30PM

An exclusive artist talk with Andrew Rogers will be held on Wednesday 11 September at 6:30PM for VIP pass holders. During this intimate talk, collectors will hear Andrew speak about a number of sculptures on display, including his recent ‘Tessera’ series. This will also offer VIP guests the opportunity to gain exclusive insight into his processes, which have been described by the National Gallery of Australia as informed by “the rugged expression of Auguste Rodin, the organic abstraction of Henry Moore, and the cool conceptualism of Anthony Caro.—Andrew Rogers’ unique sculptural language suggests growth, regeneration and material transformation.”

LOTTIE CONSALVO
in conversation with Dominik Mersch
Friday 13 September at 7PM

Lottie Consalvo will discuss her new works and recent projects with Dominik Mersch in a highly anticipated artist talk at the Sydney Contemporary Art Fair. Please join us at 7PM in Booth F03 to hear more about her abstract painting, video, and performance practice, connected through ideas around longing, the ungraspable and the imaginary. Formative projects include her solo exhibition at Heide Museum of Modern Art, her selection as artist in residence with Marina Abramović: Kaldor Public Art Projects, and her current solo show at Maitland Regional Art Gallery ‘Somewhere Else’.

PRETZEL-BRUNCH
WITH DOMINIK MERSCH AND SONJA GRIEGOSCHEWSKI
Friday 13 September at 12PM

Start your Friday at the fair with a delicious pretzel and conversation with Gallery Director Dominik Mersch and Director of the Goethe-Institut Australia Sonja Griegoschewski. Please note this event is for VIP passes only. This German breakfast will be focusing on Dominik Mersch Gallery’s two German-based artists represented at the Fair, Elger Esser and Clemens Krauss. Düsseldorf-based artist Elger Esser will be exhibiting luminous photographs of French river landscapes that are reminiscent of antique postcards. Berlin-based Clemens Krauss’ works feature heavy impasto paint against sparse planes of canvas, suggestive of people moving across an insurmountable landscape.

ART AND WINE TALKS:
Katie West in Conversation with Dominik Mersch
Saturday 14 September at 4PM Handpicked Wines Art Bar

Hear from Katie West and Dominik Mersch over a glass of wine about how sustainability and reciprocity feature in her practice. Katie is a Yindjibarndi woman currently living and working on Wurundjeri country in Naarm, Melbourne. Her interdisciplinary practice explores the renewal of human connections with and within the natural environment, underpinned by a captivating meditative quality and strong sense of place.

NEXT Program: LIAM GARSTANG
Liam Garstang has been selected for the NEXT program, a unique showcase of 50 new works from artists under the age of 35, all priced under $5,000. This dynamic new platform provides art lovers the opportunity to discover and acquire accessible work by the next generation of talent. Liam Garstang’s work ‘The Ghost House’ is a spectral, large-scale drypoint print that re-imagines personal and generational stories rooted in the artist’s family home in Wagga Wagga.
