Juz Kitson, ‘Thousands of words exist silently in your memory’, 2017, hand blown glass, merino wool, rabbit fur, polyester string, marine ply and treated pine, 200 x 78 x 60 cm

Secret Garden is a compelling and challenging look at the relationship between humans and nature. This exhibition leans into human entanglement as existing on two sides of a knife. Our self-imposed position within nature coupled with technological advancements harbour us with a tool that can both harm and heal. Utopia and dystopia are closer than what we would first like to think, and the works in this show inhabit both interpretations. Beyond seeing humans as destroyers of worlds, ‘Secret Garden’ posits that we can also be potential curers.

Featuring works by John Beard, Peta Clancy, Giacomo Costa, Lottie Consalvo, Juz Kitson, Janet Laurence, Emily Parsons-Lord and Philip Wolfhagen. Curated by Alanna Irwin and Ashleigh Jones.
