Emma Fielden solo show at The Lock-Up, Newcastle

August 10, 2019

Emma Fielden’s solo show ‘An Immeasurable Distance’ opens TODAY Saturday 10 August at The Lock-Up in Newcastle. The exhibition explores the nature of infinity, the universe and our human place in it through drawings, video works and installations. Celebrated curator Julie Ewington has written an accompanying essay for the show, titled ‘Emma Fielden: The Whole and Parts of Infinity’.

“Emma Fielden has her head in the stars. Or rather, they are constantly in her thoughts. On one hand there is the grandeur of the universe, on the other the artist alone in her studio. That is the central conundrum of Fielden’s recent work: how to grasp that the world encompasses both the immeasurably large and infinitely small? And what about our place in the vastness of creation? ” Julie Ewington, 2019

‘An Immeasurable Distance’ will open at 5:30PM this Saturday and continue until 06.10.19.
