Elger Esser Exhibition at Tour 46

June 13, 2019

Elger Esser is currently exhibiting at Tour 46 Gallery in Belfort, France. The exhibition ‘De Sérignant à Giverny’ (‘From Sérignant to Giverny‘) runs from 30 March until 1 September 2019 and features a collection of Elger’s luminous, dream-like landscape photographs. The exhibition highlights these photographs as repositories of memory, inspired by the writings of Proust, Flaubert and Maupassant. Drawing on 19th century literature and antique postcards, Elger’s photographs capture a sense of suspended time. This exhibition is organised in partnership with the Fernet-Branca Foundation of Saint-Louis, which will be exhibiting another collection of Elger’s photographic works from 26 May to 30 September 2019.
