LOCUST JONES Highly Commended Finalist in the Paul Guest Prize

Locust Jones’ work ‘Lockdown Zealots’ has been selected as a Highly Commended finalist in the Paul Guest Prize at Bendigo Art Gallery in Victoria, with the exhibition running from 6.08. – 30.10.22. The biennial prize seeks to showcase and encourage contemporary drawing practice in Australia and was initiated by former Family Court Judge and Olympic rower, Paul Guest.

Locust’s selected work was created during the 2021 lockdown and collages an expanded archive of headlines and faces from global media to re-create the 24/7 news entertainment cycle, filtered through a deeply personal lens as a meta-narrative of human fate.
