ANNE ZAHALKA ‘ZAHALKAWORLD – an artist’s archive’ at Tweed Regional Gallery

February 11, 2026

Anne Zahalka’s major survey exhibition ‘ZAHALKAWORLD – an artist’s archive’ will be on display at Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre from 21.02. – 17.05.26.

Touring from the Museum of Australian Photography (MAPh), this significant exhibition brings together four decades of Anne’s photographic practice, alongside rare studio ephemera and archival material that illuminate the depth and breadth of her career.

One of Australia’s most highly regarded photo-media artists, Anne has exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally for over 40 years. Renowned for her sharp cultural observation and meticulous staging, her work interrogates Australian identity, landscape, and the constructed nature of photographic truth.

‘ZAHALKAWORLD’ presents key bodies of work spanning Anne’s practice, contextualised by collected treasures from her archive that inform and inspire her. Encompassing material that is both personal and professional, these archival components are incorporated into a life-sie recreation of the artist’s house-studio within the gallery space entitled ‘Kunstkammer’, awarded the Bowness Prize in 2023.
