This view is up Martin Place toward Macquarie Street, Sydney. One of 38 images from Ikon Studio roll number N97 of candid street photographs, in a number sequence of N095-N100. The Ikon Studio photographer stood in a licenced street photography position outside the Prudential Building at 39-49 Martin Place, between Castlereagh and Elizabeth streets. All of the 127 rolls of 35mm film in this collection were taken between May and the summer of 1950. Each roll is inscribed with a reference number and each even image frame is inscribed 2, 4, 6 to the end between the rebate sprocket holes.
