ANNE ZAHALKA ‘Manipulated’ at ARTICULATE Project Space

Anne Zahalka’s photograph ‘The Reader (Ian Collie)’ will be shown as part of the group show ‘Manipulated’ at ARTICULATE Project Space from 02.11. – 24.11.24. The exhibition brings together diverse artistic practices that are engaged with the critical investigation of photography.
On her work, the artist says: “This portrait of my partner hung in my mother’s home until her death in 2016. Taken the year we met for the series Resemblance II (1988), the colour and density had shifted over time. I couldn’t bring myself to throw the image out and later pinned it up on our garden wall. During torrential rains earlier this year it weathered and a beautiful patina formed. I decided to reframe it again and hang it in my home.”
