ANNE ZAHALKA Finalist in the Northern Beaches Environmental Art and Design Prize

Anne Zahalka has been announced as a finalist in the 2026 Northern Beaches Environmental Art and Design Prize for her work ‘Adrift’. The finalist exhibition will be on show from 7.08. – 20.09.26 at Manly Art Gallery & Museum. This is the leading national environmental prize for artists and designers, platforming inspiring and critical works that engage with contemporary environmental issues.

Zahalka is one of Australia’s most highly regarded photo-media artists, having exhibited extensively in Australia and overseas for more than thirty years. Her work has often explored cultural and environmental points of tension, challenging these with a humorous and critical voice. She deconstructs familiar scenes and re-presents them to allow other figures and stories to be told that reflect on cultural diversity and ecological impact within Australian society.
