A profile on Anne Zahalka has been featured in the Spring edition of Openbook: the award-winning magazine published through the State Library of NSW.
Brett Evans writes: “Zahalka’s witty reworkings of these iconic images have themselves become iconic … During a 45-year career, she’s created over 40 solo exhibitions, taken part in countless group shows and won numerous prestigious prizes … Last year she mounted a major survey show at the Museum of Australian Photography in Melbourne called Zahalkaworld: An artist’s archive … At the heart of Zahalkaworld is a piece called Kunstkammer (a ‘wonder room’, in German, something used for storing curiosities).
